M&S to boost Ocado roll-out as online grocery competition intensifies

Marks and Spencer is planning to expand its grocery business both in-store and online, revealing its intention to focus on its food business by opening 104 additional Simply Food stores and expanding its online offering.

This new strategy reported by the Grocery Gazette further highlights the importance of grocers having both a store network and an online presence in order to keep up with consumer demand. Something the UK’s biggest grocers such as Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda have spearheaded through the use of Omnichannel stores.
